Freelance: Full Time vs Part Time

When it comes to freelancing, is there a huge difference between doing it Full-time vs Part-time? If you’re enjoying it doing as a side hustle, then shouldn’t it be as enjoying when you’re doing it full-time..

If you are thinking about starting a side business or freelance career, it can be a scary time. You have to figure out how much money you will need to make and what kind of income you want. You have to get rid of all of your old habits, including how you spent your time at work. The best thing you can do is prepare yourself for what is ahead.

Here’s what’s great about freelancing, you can be your own boss, work when you want to,its flexible and the best part is working from home or anywhere! There isn’t a rigid work schedule you have to follow but there are drawbacks too. Such as no security of a regular job, no work benefits or sick leave and income fluctuates. If you’re thinking of doing freelance full-time these are some considerations you need to take note.

Freelancing is a great way to earn extra income in your spare time. It can also be a lot of fun. For example, some freelancers are full-time professional writers. They write articles for their local newspapers or magazines. Other freelancers are graphic designers, web designers, programmers, or marketers. Still others work as a part-time accountant, or they’re a photographer, or a marketer, or a consultant. Whatever you do, freelance can be a great career, but it requires a lot of hard work.

Unlike employees at a day job, your boss tells you what to do. Leave all the jobs at your desk to complete and gives out your paycheck at the end of every month.Freelancers, on the other hand, have to find their own work. Surfing through the web every day, promoting themselves on social media, and handling big projects all by themselves. To make things worse, we also have to chase after the clients to get paid as well. Which happens more often than you might think. Freelancers actually work more than most people who work at day jobs.

How do you decide if you should freelance full-time or part-time?

  1. Do your research and understand what you need for that phase in your life.
  2. Understand that despite the flexibility of freelancing, there might not be stability in your income when you’re starting out.
  3. Freelancing is not for everyone.

In a nutshell, before comparing yourself with your family or friends and comparing the nature of freelancing full-time or part-time. Always remember, at the end of the day it is what gives you the most joy and ensure that you have enough to survive!
